mixing prints like a pro

8.22.2014

Seen on the pre-summer 2015 runways, mixing prints is a trend that is not going anywhere. There is a lot of florals mixed with stripes or different geometric patterns mixed together, etc. Therefore this Fall, why don't you give it a try if you haven't already? I am still sticking to probably the most classic print mix of them all - stripes and leopard. However this time, I went out of the box and went for a bright colored stripe. I'm obviously a huge risk-taker...lol

How to mix prints like a pro:

1. Play with different prints and textures but try to stay within the same color palette.

2. Start with black and white stripes, which is the easiest print to work with, and work from there. Add florals, polka dots, plaid, animal print, other stripes, etc.

3. Have fun with the same prints in one outfit however again, stick to the same color palette.

4. If you haven't tried this trend yet and want to take it slow, just try breaking up your look by layering with a solid colored piece of clothing or accessory.

Now go on and mix it up like nobody's business!
