Zaful - your one stop shop

11.15.2016

One of the hottest trends occurring right now is the “exaggerated sleeve”. Whether it be oversize, extra long, flared, etc., it’s all the new craze. So when I laid my eyes upon this chunky knit sweater with bell sleeves on Zaful for only $19.99, I had to have it no questions asked.
Zaful is your one-stop online shop for today’s fashion forward girl who’s looking for exciting and edgy clothing, shoes and accessories. And let’s not forget, extremely affordable which is a huge plus for me. The quality of the sweater is great and really worth more than $19.99. But I’m not complaining J
I received the top in no time and it excellent condition. For the first time EVER, I can actually say that I’m looking forward to a chillier day so I can wear it. But just one day!

off the shoulder

6.08.2016

When you find the perfect top and can't wait to wear it!
The weather today was unlike your typical June hot sunny day. It was windy, cold and rainy. However this beautiful white off shoulder top could not wait to make its debut. I froze my buns off but at least I looked pretty doing it :)

yes...leggings can be worn as pants!

12.02.2015

If you follow my Instagram, you'll know that I work out. I love it. I'm a gym rat. I've got swolemates. Insert annoying fitness terms here!
I own more workout clothes than I do underwear. And yes, I do own more than the M/T/W/T/F/S/S underwear weekly pack.
But the leggings that really hold my s**t together are from Fabletics. I kid you not, the fabric is thick enough to suck everything in but thin enough to actually be able to train in. They are not see-through, they are breathable, and they CAN be worn as pants! And the prints/designs are friggin awesome. BONUS: prices are pretty decent compared to competitors.
It's the Holidays, make yourself a Fabletics wish list or just treat yourself to a pair, or two at their prices.

woolovers

11.10.2015

Cozy is what cozy does. Once the weather starts cooling down, we always tend to gravitate towards those warmer and cozier pieces. A crisp morning calls for a trendy (and suuuper soft) striped cashmere sweater. Pieces like this are great to wear with leggings, jeans, skirts, overalls, etc. so pretty much everything.
And, if you're a high quality fabric hunter like me, you will absolutely ADORE Woolovers. You'll find the finest wool, cotton and cashmere pieces EVER in the best possible shapes. Plus, some of them are unisex, so if hubby is a bit tubby, you're safe from him stealing it!
Time to stock up on some quality warmth, because the weather is mad I tell you!

deep in the trench

10.21.2015

Going for the long run. Long lines have been so in this season that we're seeing lots of maxi dresses, shirts, skirts, and...sleeveless trench coats!
What's even cooler than Richie Cunningham is layering those long pieces. Got a long turtleneck dress? Stick a long vest over it. Long t-shirt? Don't forget that maxi cardigan. Obviously a killer outfit needs balance, so my boots aren't long otherwise I'd look so Amish. And I'm not ready for that yet. I went with ankle boots to balance everything out. May I
If you don't feel like wearing a skin tight dress, even though your long layer is pretty much covering all of your wobbly bits, this vest will also look just as cool over a simple jeans & tee look.
If this post still hasn't made you want to head over to buy a sleeveless trench coat, maybe this might help...mine is only $8.00 at Dresslink. You still here??

Fabletics part deux

10.08.2015

Thank god sporty is in. I can't stress enough how in the good old days (I'm not divulging my age here but...) there was no way in hell a girl (or guy) could go to work in active wear. And look at me now. Not only am I in full on sweats but I don't look out of place! We all love a good pantsuit (*coughs* Hillary *cough cough*) to climb up that business ladder...but have you ever watched an actual climber?! They don't wear pantsuits.

I've paired this INSANE mesh muscle tank with striped detailing from Fabletics (can't get enough) with some cool sweatpants and un ultra fuzzy cardigan. Again, the black and white combo really keeps it classy. I wouldn't say I'd be as keen to wear this to work if there were a lot of neons involved. Guess how many compliments I got today though! This girl is slayyyying.

badass mama

10.05.2015

At ease, boys. I know you all want me but you're gonna have to get in line. The guy that put a ring on it a few years ago ain't too thrilled.

Today's the day I toot my own horn. Don't I look like a badass in this?! I mean, this is badass in a jar. One wrong move and I could potentially call my friends and we can all meet in the school yard at 3:30pm and throw some punches.

How to be a badass starter pack: 1. Backwards baseball cap (because too cool to wear it the right way) 2. Leather jacket (obvi) 3. Drop crotch army sweatpants (ain't nobody got time for feminine shit amirite) 4. New Balance sneakers because I'm sooooooo cool 5. Oversized sunglasses (stolen from the lead singer of the band).

Get this pack and nobody will mess with you while you're pushing your daughter on the swings. Because you're hood like that. Call me Don Corlena.

Fabletics

9.29.2015

Gym-goers eat your heart out. Fabletics has finally come down from the heavens and given us what we rightfully should be wearing in the gym...an activewear line that caters to our feminine side. Who says we can't sweat in style? When I received these athletic leggings and saw the intricate lace on them, I almost cried off my designer mascara (and then I was like "NO, Lena, NO! Crying is for watching Ellen give out $10K jumbo cheques."). First, let's talk about how freakin cute they are. We don't see this everyday, the combo of girly cuteness and rock hard runner. Second, can you believe how great these feel on? I feel like I have 6 personal trainers (hot males, preferably...thanks in advance, baby Jesus!) wrapped around me and holding me together. The fabric is so firm and high quality, it was actually the first thing I noticed. And third, the overall look. I look comfortable, I look fit, and I look fiiiiiiiine (snaps fingers and walks away into the sunset).

hop on the waist trainer wagon

9.22.2015

I've been wearing this waist training corset by Dresslink to work (9-5) for about a week now. I'm actually able to last until 5pm now but at the beginning of the week I just wanted to take it off and run it through a wood chipper. But then again, I want to do that with my bra soooo.
The waist trainer sucks everything in which is great but what's even better is that it helps with my posture. It keeps me from slouching seeing as I sit in front of a computer most of the day. If I slouch even a little bit, the waist trainer compresses my lungs and I basically can't breathe, just like when I saw Ellen DeGeneres in person the first time. True story!
It's cool cause it's nude. You can't see it under clothing (unless you look for it, wink wink husband) however if you wear a fitted top or dress, you will see the boning at front clasps.
Out of curiosity, I trained in it last night. You think I'm dumb right? Probably. But it actually wasn't bad at all. I was able to breathe just fine and again, it kept my posture in check. I did sweat balls in my mid-section so I'm sure something good must've been happening.
In conclusion, after 1 week of wearing it 9-5 everyday, I am a lot less bloated in the evenings when I take it off. However I doubt that I've lost any inches. I'm curios to see after a month. I think this is just a quick fix and gives you a great silhouette under clothing...like Spanx. In my opinion, I strongly believe that the only way to lose belly fat and trim your waist line, is with hard work and a healthy diet.

bisous

9.21.2015

This outfit is worth all the kisses it boasts. Have you ever tried a midi skirt tighter than your mother's facelift? I sure have kids. And it's awesome. This ribbed midi is high waisted and tight everywhere, and even though it doesn't have a slit, I can still walk like a diva in it. I've paired it with heels because you know. I could have easily thrown on some Chucks and my outfit would have been cool & casual.

Although I am wearing a Bisous sweatshirt, the skirt and heels make it dressy.
Sometimes it's all about how you pair things. This is the perfect example of a day-to-night outfit (this obviously being the night). If you can't wear heels during the day you can go for sneakers, sandals, combat boots, and even loafers & espadrilles. Anything goes when casual meets chic. You are the author of how you feel, and how I feel right now is dammmmmmmmn fine betches!

ONNO t-shirts

9.16.2015

Nothing better than your fave t-shirt. Admit it! We all have this thing where we find a t-shirt, it's the most comfortable fabric EVER, the cut is amazing, and then we're like, "Ma'am, I'll get it in all the colors available, please."

This is what happened with me and this bamboo (yes, I'm so trendy) t-shirt from ONNO. Have you ever felt a cherub angel baby's bottom? Neither have I, except that one time in Amsterdam in the 90's, but that's beside the point... Anyways, this angel's bottom felt like this awesome bamboo t-shirt and I was sold. No way was I ever NOT gonna wear an angel's butt on myself ever again.

If you've been on the lookout for the perfect basic t-shirt to wear every single day of your life, look no further. ONNO t-shirts will have you running in pumps for more.

I've paired my army green tee with some knee slash skinnies and pumps (hence earlier reference; I ran to my computer to order more).

Why wear a scratchy synthetic fibre tee when you can wear a cherub booty tee? Like. Come on.

dressing up the down

9.09.2015

"Oh honey, you look so hot in sweatpants."

This is a phrase many of us never thought we would ever hear. Like ever. Let alone believe! But daaaaaaayum do I feel fine in these Joshua Perets tight sweats. The key to looking and feeling hawt in sweatpants is all in the way you put your outfit together. I know, I say this often, but shoes are a girls best friend, and if we've learned ANYTHING at all from Sex & the City, it's that I like to pretend I'm Samantha on the weekends shoes are everything and will dictate an outfit.
So. First line of business, put on said sweats. Second, find some strappy sandals. They will balance out the casual. Third, pop on a dress shirt (again, ups the business casual aspect). And last, accessorize with class (watch and timeless jewelry).
BOOM.
I look like I'm meeting with Donald Trump to discuss immigration Barack and Michelle for tea (and no one knows if I'm wearing my fancy panties or my granny panties). Michelle will probably ask.
