my favorite camera apps

1.21.2014

Carrying around your DSLR camera is not always convenient but your camera phone does the trick for those spur of the moment "crap I wish I had my camera on me" photo ops.
Here are my favorite camera apps for iPhone which I am currently using.
This App aims to allow you to take better pictures from the get-go by offering both tap for focus and tap for exposure lock as well as stabilization features for anti-camera shake. Once the photo has been taken you’ve got a ton of great scene modes, filters and adjustments to use. With just a few quick taps, you’re able to transform dull, lifeless photos into beautiful creations. Editing your photos with Camera+ is extremely simple and intuitive to use.

PicLab
PicLab allows you to add beautiful typography, apply stunning filters and photo effects, and add an ever-growing collection of shapes, light FX, textures, borders, patterns, and more to your photos and share them to your favorite social networks!

VSCOCam takes iPhoneography to the next level. There are so many amazing features, like the ability to take a photo in a square format, to focus on two subjects, white balance and 48 new filters. The list goes on. It's my go-to and most used app. It has a simple, easy interface and filters that don’t over edit your photos. It also keeps the quality of your photos even after you edit them. This app is like the indie, underground cool kids of high school.

Ever had the devastating problem of taking a wonderful picture… only to find out it just won’t fit properly in the Instagram automatic square crop? We have ALL been there. I use Squaready when I want to show the whole horizontal/ vertical picture, without anything being cropped! Regardless of size, this app can make any picture fit properly… so you can show off the whole thing on Instragram.

What are your must-have photo apps for iPhone?

I LOVE vsco. I practically live on it and I even edit my blog pictures on it.
For adding text, I think Over and Phonto are really good as well.
And for some real artsy edits, I have Mextures.
