Yesterday was my first class in ballet for beginners. Prima ballerina I am not, heck I'm not even worthy of being a stagehand. Not as easy as I thought it would be and it was only then that I realized how uncoordinated I am. My arms were swaying every which way, I couldn't hold a position on one leg for more than 5 seconds, my feet are terrible (bad arch) which results in an ugly pointed toe, I just looked like a complete goof. But on a brighter note, it was a beginner course therefore all the other 14 students were the same, so I didn't look totally off :)
The entire hour and a half was spent doing barre exercises. Learning the 5 positions, ports de bras, plie's, tendu's, etc. Despite my difficulties, I had a blast and am so excited for the next class!

You are so lucky ! I'd like to do something like this !
That sounds amazing. I have always dreamed of being a prima ballerina.

So glad you had fun! Hang in there, you'll get more comfortable with it.
I did ballet for 10 years and hated it because I had really bad turn-out and bad knees which ballet aggravated but I had to do it, for technique and to complement the other forms of dancing I did. I just wish I had been better at it!
Enjoy it!!
Awww wow! I would love to do a ballet class! You go girl, you'll pick up the timing, co-ordination etc in no time!
Good luck sweetie!

Don't be so hard on yourself! As long as you have fun - you'll see results in a few classes : )
Spoke to your hubby about this weekend - I think we might do a sunday brunch : )
