Fabricville "I ♥ Fashion" Sewing Contest urges
customers to show off their talent!
Montreal, September 7, 2010 – Beginner and expert sewers alike are today being urged to show
off their talents and enter Fabricville’s "I ♥ Fashion" Sewing Contest.
Participants are invited to create a garment using fabric from Fabricville, and submit three photos
of their creation for a chance to win the Ultimate Style Weekend in Montreal, Quebec, valued at
over $4,000.
With over $10,000 in prizes to be won, the contest will name a Grand Prize Winner, in addition to
five finalists from the following categories: eveningwear, formalwear, costumes, children, career
wear and weekend wear. Participants’ creations will be judged on workmanship, level of detail,
creativity, and overall design.
All entries will be reviewed by a panel of experts made up of Louise de Beaujour, owner of the
Monique Fournier Sewing School, which operates in select Fabricville locations; Judith Sziranyi,
interior decorator with over 40 years of experience in visual merchandising; Sonia Deroy, fashion
design teacher at the Academy of Arts and Design, stylist, and fashion columnist; and Annie
Rousseau, guest judge and Fabricville’s May 2010 “40 and fabulous” Fashion Contest Grand
Prize Winner.
The six lucky winners will be announced on January 17, 2011.
“It is such a great pleasure to be able to see our customers’ creations”, said Fabricville Vice-
President of Operations Ricki Carr. “They are so creative and passionate about sewing, fashion
and crafts, and it’s a great reward to realize how Fabricville can fuel and give life to their
creativity.”
Fabricville’s last fashion contest, “40 and fabulous” Fashion Contest, launched as part of the
company’s 40th anniversary celebration, was a huge success. They hope the "I ♥ Fashion"
Sewing Contest will generate the same excitement, and they plan to launch more contests in the
future.
The deadline to enter the "I ♥ Fashion" Sewing Contest is November 7, 2010, 11:59pm ET.

Wow..I am SO interested in the contest!! Thank you for bringing it to my attention...the only problem is we don't have Fabricville out West..it's Fabricland here...even though it's under the same company I doublt they would take a Fabricland receipt...ugh...so bummed
