Celebrity style. I love Rosie's outfit. I gotta get me some nude ballet flats. Why I don't own a pair of these classic go-with-anything shoes is beyond me.

date night

On Friday, Andrew and I had a date night. Supper and a musical. Supper was at a restaurant in Old Montreal called Osteria Venti. It was delicious. "Familiar Italian dishes with a twist". After supper we attended a showing of the musical Schwartz's. The play is about our famous Montreal smoked meat deli that's been around for ages. We were hesitant at first as to if I would enjoy it and surprisingly enough it was fantastic. It made us crave a smoked meat sandwich upon exiting the theatre :) If ever any of you visit Montreal, do not leave without visiting and eating at Schwartz's. The best smoked meat your mouth will ever munch on.

My appetizer was a crostini 'Caponata Siciliana'. Toasted bread topped with eggplant, olives, & onions.

Gnocchi was on the menu, so of course I ordered it without a doubt. Ricotta gnocchi with tomato sauce.

And my side dish was grilled polenta.
I also had dessert which was so good it didn't last long enough to take a picture of. It was like a key lime pie tasting gelato. So friggin good!

My rating 10/10. I would definitely go back.

I didn't want to let you guys know that I was making another dress for a few weddings I have this year, just in case the project got botched up, however it turned out great and I'm extremely excited to show it to you all.
Yesterday, I attended 2 of the 6 weddings I have this year. One of them being a gay wedding.
I received more compliments last night than I've ever received in my entire life. And receiving compliments from gay men is by far the highest paid compliment I can ever get. They truly mean it because they're getting nothing out of it :)
The idea for the dress is based on this All Saints dress that I saw on a friend of mine. I tried it on and it just didn't fit quite right on me. So off to the market I go to buy some fabric. I found this beige sequin fabric on sale which in total cost me $3.00 for the amount that I needed. I brought it to a seamstress friend of mine because I didn't even know where to begin in making it and presto...what do you guys think?

Two things you can tell by looking at the picture below:
1. I bite my cuticles. I can't help it but at least I don't bite my nails anymore.
2. I'm terrible at painting my own nails.

dress: my own design
shoes: Aldo
clutch: Ardene (old)
cocktail ring: Ardene (old)

You all know by reading this post and this post, how badly I wanted to own a pair of Isabel Marant 'Forbes' boots. But, it wasn't written in the stars for me to have them. Luckily a few years back, I had purchased a similar style knee high boot as below.

Suede, beige/grey colour, cowboy style. Very much the criteria of the 'Forbes' boot. Since I was not wearing these boots anymore and I also remember that the last time I wore them I had scrunched them down, I figured I'd have them cut into the length and shape of the 'Forbes'. Shoemaker to the rescue...

YEAH!!!! The feeling I got when I put them on for the first time was better than the feeling I've been having knowing that Jersey Shore will be premiering tomorrow. FIST PUMP EVERYONE!!!
