Andrew and I have been so busy painting the house, taking care of the baby's homecoming (washing his clothes, putting together his room and his things, packing our bags, etc), putting up the Christmas tree and decorations, putting up new curtains in the kitchen & dining room...that I thought I'd show you guys the results.
Bear with me:
1. The video quality is awful. We like our house very dim, so the lighting is terrible.
2. I look like crap. This was taken at the end of a work day once I've already washed up for relax time. That means, me in pj's and no make-up on...need I say BOO!! scary!!

Question
10.14.2010
I received a question from a reader of mine, Aliya, on yesterday's post. She wrote:
I plan to have a baby too, but I can say that if I can look like yoy pregnant I will be so happy! You look shape...
Can you tell us what do you eat during your day and how much do you exercise during the week (one or 2 times????)
First, thank you so much for the compliment. It feels great when people tell you that you look great in general but when you're pregnant it's that much better due to the fact that you don't feel so hot. So big hugs and kisses to you Aliya and all my other readers for always putting a smile on my face with your kindness!!!
Now, to answer the questions.
1. What do I eat during the day? It changes from day to day so it's very difficult for me to tell you exactly what I eat on a daily basis. However I can tell you the following, I eat fruits & vegetables daily, I have milk every day, I take Materna daily, I drink lots of water, I have yogurt every day, and I eat 6 times a day. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, supper, snack. Decent size portions but more often. What really helped me a lot in knowing if I'm getting the right amount of nutrients is the web site Baby Fit. They have a nutrition tracker where you write in your goal weight gain for your pregnancy and it tells you what to eat or also tells you if what you're eating is putting you on the right track in regards to calcium, protein, folate, iron, & calories in order for you to achieve your objective. P.S. I still eat junk food like ice cream, chips, candy, chocolate, etc. however I don't go overboard. I think that if you deprive yourself of something you like, you'll eventually go crazy and binge...which is not good. The key word...MODERATION!
2. How often do I exercise? I work out twice a week, sometimes 3, 1 hour a day. I also take walks during the evening as often as I can. My workout consists of skipping rope for cardio, lunges with weights, squats with weights, boxing (punching the bag, nobody's punching me...lol), pull-ups, ab workout but not lying down (no sit-ups lying on your back as of being 3 months pregnant), running, push-ups, upper body work-out with weights, etc. In my class, we do a lot of high-intensity interval training. The only part of my work-out that's really changed from before I was pregnant is the ab workout. And don't forget the stretching, very important.
Hope this helps! And good luck Aliya in your future pregnancy/baby days :)

no excuses
9.29.2010
I know this Nike commercial featuring Warhawk Matt Scott first aired on telivision at the beginning of the year but it was just brought to my attention by my trainer Linda Sproull. All I have to say is...BRILLIANT! It really opened up my eyes on how much I take my good health and lifestyle for granted. I confess, I am one of those people that make inane & ignorant excuses to not take part in activites. It doesn't faze me that there are people out there that would love to just be able to do half the things I do, but can't. Or there's people that can only do so much however they still push themselves to the limit. To all of you courageous & strong-willed people out there...GOD BLESS YOU! You inspire & motivate me!

The Hangover
7.23.2010
I must've watched the movie "The Hangover" over a dozen times and am not fed up. It's actually playing on TV right now which is what tempted me to write this post. It gets me laughing all the time without fail. The story is pure genius and the casting...superb!! I can't wait for the sequel coming out in Summer 2011.
Here are 2 of my favorite scenes. Which are yours?

Charlie & Lee
7.01.2010
A new store has just opened up and I have to share it with all of you.
Charlie & Lee is a women's clothing store located in Victoria B.C. Canada on Wharf street...but for all of us who aren't so lucky to visit the actual store, they also have a website which includes an on-line store. WOO HOO! Such great pieces, I wish I had the cash to buy it all. American Retro, Happy Socks, Kova & T, and Rebecca Minkoff are just a few from a long list of worldwide independant labels they carry.
They were kind enough to give one of my lucky readers a 25% discount on any item in the store. All you need to do is:
- Be a follower of Charlie & Lee on at least one of the following. Blog, Facebook, or Twitter.
- Let us know what your favorite piece of clothing/accesory is from their store.
- Leave your name and e-mail address in order to be able to contact you if you are the lucky winner.
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!

Ultrasound
6.15.2010
At 12 weeks and 1 day pregnant, I finally had my very first ultrasound yesterday.
I was nervous the past couple of days leading up to the big moment...I just wanted everything to turn out fine. And I'm proud to say that Andrew & I are having a healthy baby. Everything is A-OK :) I saw the baby bouncing around, waving it's hands, pushing itself off it's feet, opening and closing it's mouth, etc. I also heard a very quick & normal heartbeat. WOW!!!!
This experience was just so surreal. I cannot believe that we're having a baby. It really hit me when I saw it moving around. It's too bad Andrew missed it due to the fact that he's away on business but he got to see the pictures and he's one ecstatic daddy. On Friday he'll view the videos with me as a family :)
I'm sharing them with you. I can't believe technology today. The pictures are so clear and the baby is only 3" long, the size of a peach.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot....the doctor is 90% sure that it's a......GIRL!!!!!!

Duke's Birthday
6.12.2010
On June 9th, Duke turned 1 year's old. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
I can't believe it's been a year already. Man time flies.
Time goes by fast, and people go in and out of your life so quickly, so you should never miss the opportunity to tell these people how much they mean to you.
Now go on and hug your friends, hug your family, hug your pets, hug your spouse...tell them how dear they are to you and how much you love them :)

Studded to perfection
4.19.2010
I purchased these studded leggings last week at Aldo and completely forgot about them. I did some Spring cleaning in my closet this weekend and there they were stashed away in a corner by their lonesome self. I have a tendancy of only hanging away new clothing once it's been worn, this way I don't forget about it. I guess my trick doesn't work...lol
I also decided to do a little video for you. Nothing special, just me blabbing away. I just wanted to tell you all, my fans & readers, that I extremely appreciate all your comments and for being a follower of mine. It's your lovely comments that keep this blog going. THANK YOU!!!! Big hugs & kisses.
If you have any suggestions on how I can improve this blog, my ears are open. Also, if there's anything about me that you'd like to know...ASK AWAY!!! I will do my very best to get to all your requests and questions as soon as possible.
Have a Happy Monday everyone!

Gnocchi
2.07.2010
My favorite pasta of all time is gnocchi. If I go to a restaurant and they have it on the menu...I'm ordering it.
30 Min
Cook Time:
35 Min
Ready In:
1 Hr 5 Min
Servings
Original Recipe Yield 4 servings
Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) sweet potatoes
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Bake sweet potatoes for 30 minutes, or until soft to the touch. Remove from the oven, and set aside to cool.
- Once the potatoes are cool enough to work with, remove the peels, and mash them, or press them through a ricer into a large bowl. Blend in the garlic, salt, nutmeg, and egg. Mix in the flour a little at a time until you have soft dough. Use more or less flour as needed.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. While you wait for the water, make the gnocchi. On a floured surface, roll the dough out in several long snakes, and cut into 1-inch sections. Drop the pieces into the boiling water, and allow them to cook until they float to the surface. Remove the floating pieces with a slotted spoon, and keep warm in a serving dish. Serve with butter or cream sauce.

Ke$ha

Anyone else obsessed with the song "Tik Tok"? I am still not tired of hearing it play on and on.
Well, it was recently brought to my attention that the chart topper herself has appeared on the show "The Simple Life" starring Paris Hilton & Nicole Richie a while back.
Here's a clip.

Bad Romance
11.17.2009
I finally saw the Lady Gaga "Bad Romance" video this past weekend and my eyes were just glued to the screen the entire time. I was hypnotized by the first-class, grade A thoughts and ideas put into it.
The imagination and creativity behind this video is completely outstanding. Not to mention that the song is friggin amazing. She outdoes herself everytime.
Could she be the new Madonna?
Has she already taken over the title "Queen of Pop"?
Let me know your opinions and for those of you who haven't seen the video already...ENJOY!!
Lena xoxo
