The other day I came across this DIY and my jaw literally dropped. I was speechless and that rarely happens. I immediately fell in love with the blanket and although it might take me a year and a day to make it, this DIY is at the top my to-do list.

painted tip
11.17.2011
Remember a few posts back, I wrote that I had 2 DIY ideas in mind. Well yesterday one of the ideas came to life. I DIY'd the tip of an old pair of shoes to give the appearance of a toe cap which is incredibly hot right now. I wanted to use a pair of electric blue shoes however I came across a white pair of stiletto's that I hadn't worn in ages. The first thought that came to mind was these babies from Isabel Marant. Adding an ankle strap is a whole other story so dying the tip is as far as I went and I love them.

studs hugging my neck
11.09.2011
Another DIY scratched off of my to-do list. An oldie but a goodie, I studded the collar of a blouse sitting in my closet begging to be revamped. My fingers are sore but the blouse looks great!

fishtail
11.07.2011
I love the ever so popular fish tail skirt and thought to myself "how difficult could it be to DIY one of my current skirts into one?" Easier than I could've imagined. I had this maxi skirt in my closet and found that I hadn't worn it in quite a bit of time therefore this was the perfect candidate for my little project.
I folded the skirt side over side, the way you would fold a pair of trousers. (Not with the front on top of the back.) I then cut an arch from where the front of the skirt would be towards the side seam. You can play around with the size of the arch depending on how mini or midi you want the front of the skirt to be. Et voila! Also don't forget to sew the hem of the skirt in order to avoid the fabric from fraying.
Love my new skirt!

recycle baby food jars
10.18.2011
Liam's old baby food jars + spray paint (any colour you desire) + paint marker (any colour you desire) = new spice jars!
I washed Liam's old baby food jars, the label came off easily during wash. I then removed the stubborn label glue that was stuck on the glass with some nail polish remover. Spray painted the lids with black chalkboard paint. (I was planning on writing the spice contents in chalk but I couldn't find chalk with a small enough tip. Even sharpening the chalk did not work.) Therefore I purchased this Sharpie Paint Opaque Marker and that did the trick.
These jars fit perfectly in my spice drawer, and I can fit much more jars than my original jars. The jars are also able to contain a bigger amount of spice than my old ones.
And yes, my spices are in alphabetical order :)

arm candy DIY
10.02.2011
This DIY has been on my 'To Do' list for quite some time now and I finally got around to scratching it off. I'm now hooked and want to make tons of them in different colour combinations. I also want to try it with the crystal chain to replace the ball chain.

DIY fringe top
3.06.2011
I came across this fringe crop top from Topshop and immediately fell in love. But why spend $30 when you can so easily make this yourself. Which is what I did and I spent only $1.99!
Newborn, husband away on business...where do you find the time you ask? When baby sleeps, you sleep...not me...I DIY!!!!

debut
10.17.2010
A while back, I mentioned that I was having trouble finding a dress for the gazillion weddings I had this year. Therefore to make my life easier, I decided to make a dress. 1. It'll be a one of kind. 2. It'll fit like a glove. 3. I'll get exactly what I want.

DIY
8.13.2010
This isn't really an outfit post as it's Friday and I tend to be lazy on Friday's, it's to show you a very minor and simple DIY that I did yesterday.
I had this very "blah" navy blazer as you can see here. Ingredients to add some spice:
- Gold buttons to replace the tone on tone navy originals.
- Shoulder pads to give the blazer some shape.
P.S. I added a little design in my last pic to take the attention away from my feet. I hate my toes but I just had to show you these cute sandals. They're old but I just love the gold detail. Goes perfect with my new buttons :)
