opinion needed

I am in a bit of a jam. I currently have to attend 3 weddings in September and 3 weddings in October. My baby bump is making it very difficult for me to find a dress that fits accordingly. I have checked everywhere and to my dismay, have found absolutely zilch.
My last resort...on-line shopping. After scanning a few website's, I came across this 60's inspired dress on ASOS.

The price is decent however I'm worried about the fit. The model is wearing a size 8 and is 5'10". I'm only 5'4" and after reviewing the size chart, I would probably need a size 8 as well.
 It looks empire waist which is perfect however I'm afraid it'll be too short once my belly lifts up the front. Please help me!! Anyone who's ordered from ASOS before and knows the sizing, what should I do?

Lena, I actually love that dress. I actually just made my first purchase from ASOS. I got a romper/playsuit and it fits true to size. I'm a 10 / 12 (US), but since I wanted the romper to fit a bit looser, I went with a 12 (16 UK). The shipping was OK. I guess coming from Europe it was considerably fast. I placed the order on the 5th and got it on the 16th. And the great thing is that there is free returns/exchanges. :)

Hope you get the dress. I'm sure it will look fab on you!

xx Love & Aloha

Its a gorgeous dress, it will be a little short in front but not much. It may be a bit longer on you but then again I not familiar with clothing from ASOS. Cute dress, tights can help if its too short. Its perfect for you tiny baby boy bump.

The dress is beautiful. ASOS's sizing is typically true to size. I wear a 6, and I am always happy with ordering a 6. You and I are the same height.

what about black tights on bottom Lena?

If the model is 5'10" and the dress is mid-thigh...on you it would be knee-length and then the baby belly pulling it up will probably make it mid-thigh as well.
I've only ordered a pair of shoes from ASOS.

That's a gorgeous dress. Love the lace sleeves.
Unfortunately, I'm no help since I've been too skeptical to order from Asos myself.

The sizing in the UK is as follows:

8UK = 36 European = 5/6 Canadian
10UK = 38 European = 7/8 Canadian

(by European I don't mean Italian sizing - they are different from the rest of Europe)

I have done a lot of shopping in the UK (in regular stores, not online though) and I find that a 10 UK fits me perfect and I am a 7/8 in Canada.

ASOS has a good reputation in the UK - tons of girls shop there.

Is there are measurement for the length, from shoulder to hem?? That might help

I only ordered a pair of trousers from Asos, and they were true to size.
If I were you, I would either go one size up and have it altered, or order two sizes and return the one that doesn't fit. Your body might be slightly different, and it's not a maternity dress, so you don't know how much space your belly will take by October.
But the dress is lovely, good choice!

That dress is lovely!

It's a lovely dress! It being a little long on you shouldn't be a problem since your cute baby bump will lift it up. Then you can take it to a seamstress to make the bottom hem more even and flattering. : )

Hope that helps. -Hannah

All I can say is that I love that dress! I have no idea about Asos's sizing. Maybe if it ends up being too short you can throw a black slip or skirt underneath?

you can always wear it with tights, hoisery or leggings if it seems a tad too short ;)

I would watch out ordering from ASOS - I recently placed an order (I'm in Canada) and not only did it take almost a month to arrive, I was hit with $30 of brokerage fees at the door on a $40 purchase. :(

I am from Montreal too and I ordered two dresses from ASOS. I am 5'5 and they were a lot longer on me than the model... In both pics the dresses hit the models at around mid-thigh, but the actual dresses were 1-2 inches above my knee. The shipping was great! Received in about a week.
